Equity impacts

EJ communities face greater barriers to benefit from economic opportunities from clean energy. They often need information and lack the training or skills to benefit from these opportunities.

Recommendations

  • Prioritize and tailor workforce development investments to EJ communities so that they are the first to benefit.
  • Ensure this strategy and its sub-actions are co-developed and implemented with the communities where clean energy developments will be happening.
  • Prioritize partnering with EJ communities to ensure strategies and actions are responsive to the needs of EJ communities.

Partly reflected in the final plan. ES-4-2 names First Source Hiring, Project Pull, and CityBuild; ES-4-3 keeps community-benefits criteria on $5M+ contracts.
